Follow the Green Lantern Path, the one green-lighted by your soul and deepest intuitions. The mind and ego can be great allies once our deepest self discerns the path of life. But the mind and ego are not meant to be pathfinders — they are there to help once we have found our path. One way to tell if you are on the Green Lantern Path is to ask yourself,
Will I remember this well on my deathbed?
When you are on a path with heart, there is a deep sense of fulfillment and peace with what you are doing, though your way may present you with great difficulties. If, instead, you are on a path contrived by an unguided mind and ego, doubt and anxiety gnaw you, and as Jung put it, "The life-giving rhythm of the eons becomes the dread ticking of the clock."
If you have strayed from the Green Lantern Path, this is an auspicious time to return to it. If you are already on it, then be path-oriented, not goal-oriented. Following your heart is its own reward.
In the words of J.R.R. Tolkien,
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
